This workshop is by application only.
Honing Your Personal Vision & Process
After years of instructing this course, I’ve refined this workshop to focus entirely on the individual. This is a collaborative environment designed to cater to your personal process and specific artistic needs.
A 6-day intensive, small-group workshop designed to refine your direction and strengthen your process.
If you’ve been painting consistently, you know there comes a time where effort alone isn’t enough. You need careful examination, honest feedback, and focused direction.
During this workshop, I will work with you, outdoors and in the studio, refining your decisions, challenging your assumptions, and helping you strengthen your personal vision and process.
We will establish absolute clarity on the complexities of color.
My goal is to provide a "hyper-focus" on your unique challenges, helping you achieve the personal breakthroughs necessary to reach a higher level in your work.
We often reach a point where we believe we understand a concept completely.
Initial confidence often masks a lack of understanding. It is only through further inquiry that the limits of our knowledge become clear.
This workshop is designed to help you define your limitations and clarify them. Together, we’ll develop a working process tailored specifically to you.
This workshop is for painters who:
Have a clear understanding of painting fundamentals
Have been putting in consistent time, effort, and practice
Feel ready to refine their vision
Want to strengthen their working process
Are open to direct, individual feedback
Six days of focused painting and study
Unlike a standard curriculum, this program is designed to cater to your personal needs. Together, we will develop a workflow tailored specifically to you.
Through careful, one-on-one attention, we will address the core disciplines essential for growth—including drawing, value control, color theory, and composition. We will establish absolute clarity on the complexities of color.
My goal is to provide a "hyper-focus" on your unique challenges, helping you achieve the personal breakthroughs necessary to reach a new plateau in your work.
Each day will include:
Outdoor painting with direct feedback from me

Careful individual critiques at your easel
One-on-one conversations about your goals and direction
Participants are responsible for:
