Re-working an idea from the field in a variety of ways can help you determine where you want to go and how to best make a decision that aligns with your intention(s). Linking dark values is one way to orchestrate the painting.

Take one of your studies (from the field or studio) and take a photograph.

Print at least two copies of the image.

Re-paint the image in two different ways with attention to your dark values.

Re-take images and change them to black and white. Note your dark values; are they linked? Do they lead the viewer to the area of interest?
